hackers? Think again! Prof. Eli Biham, Dean of the Technion Computer Science
Department, has made cybersecurity his career’s research. Recently, he won the
prestigious Award for Excellence in the Field of Mathematics from the 2012 RSA

Alumni Get Inside Scoop

 Seth Pinksy and Boaz Golany meet with Technion alumni at ATS headquarters.

Meeting over
breakfast at the ATS headquarters in New York, Seth Pinsky, president of the
New York City Economic Development Corp. and one of the visionaries behind the
Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute (TCII) gave 30 Technion alumni an
insider’s view into the genesis of the plan for Roosevelt Island, and the reasoning
behind the City’s selection of the Technion-Cornell team. Prof. Boaz Golany, the Technion’s Vice
President for Public Affairs and Resource Development, also addressed the
group, saying that the alumni network will be an important part of ensuring the
success of the TCII.

Ambassador Dennis Ross Headlines Dinner

The national ATS Board of Directors were joined by more than
100 local Technion supporters and friends at a special dinner in San Francisco
earlier this month. The dinner
celebrated the most recent Nobel Prize awarded to Distinguished Technion
Professor Dan Shechtman as well as the 100-year anniversary of the Technion
cornerstone laying. Keynote
speaker Ambassador Dennis Ross, a scholar, diplomat and counselor at the
Washington Institute for Near East Policy and a lead player in shaping U.S.
involvement in the Middle East, provided an expert and thought-provoking
presentation.
